    Features

Supertunia Vista petunias are very vigorous, with mounding habits that can reach up to 2 feet in height in the landscape and will trail over the edges of baskets and containers up to 4 feet by the end of the season.  They are fantastic landscape plants and are great in large containers, where they function as both fillers and spillers.  In garden beds, they will work either in the front or middle of the bed.  They have medium-sized flowers.

    Maintenance Notes:

Supertunia® petunia plants are easy to grow and will flower non-stop from planting to hard frost if simple maintenance tasks are performed. Growing Supertunias in full sun to part sun is important for their strong growth and bloom performance. They do not require deadheading, meaning the removal of spent flowers, to stay in bloom all season.

Petunias thrive with consistent moisture. Do not let them wilt severely before watering again.

Supertunia petunias perform best when fed regularly with Proven Winners plant foods. At planting time, in containers and landscapes, mix Proven Winners Premium Continuous Release Plant Food into the soil, following the rates specified on the packaging. Reapply halfway through the growing season.

Additionally, Supertunias should be fed regularly with Proven Winners Premium Water Soluble Plant Food according to the rates specified on the packaging. For Supertunias growing in containers, feed every third time you water or at least once per week. For Supertunias growing in the ground, feed once every one to two weeks.

If you have been feeding your petunias regularly and they are getting enough sun and water but are not blooming, you may be dealing with petunia budworm. Learn more about this petunia pest.

By midsummer, it will be time to trim up your Supertunias. Trim the longest stems, bringing them in line with the others, taking care not to remove more than 20% of the plant. Trimming petunias in the landscape is not usually necessary but cutting them back by 20% can make the plants fuller. Follow up by feeding them with water soluble plant food to promote fresh new growth and blooms.

Supertunia Vista Petunia -The best petunia for landscapes. Hands down. Supertunia® Vista varieties deliver an outstanding performance over the entire season, lasting an extra month in southern states and well into fall in moderate climates. They are bred to flower earlier, grow taller and wider, and grow more vigorously than other Supertunia®.

The Best Petunia. Period.® Whats the difference between a Supertunia Vista Bubblegum and any other Supertunia? You can see my bubbles from a l-o-o-o-n-g way off. Vista, a distant view or prospect. Bubbles, bubblegum. Never mind. A Supertunia Vista Paradise is a Petunia. As in were way vigorous and have a mounding/cascading habit.

So in a garden bed, border, or landscape feature we grow 16 - 24 inches tall, and spread w-a-a-y out. As much as 2 feet. You want to fill an area with wall-to-wall medium pink flowers all season? I'm your plant. Hanging baskets, window boxes, patio containers, same story.

You know what else is totally wicked? I'm disease resistant, self-cleaning, and have sturdy stems so I always look good. I'm an annual except in zones 10 - 11. Full sun, water and a good fertilizer will keep me in the pink until frost.

    • I grew Vista Paradise for the first time this year. I put two plants in each of four 16" hanging pots and hung them from my arbor in a sunny location. I fertilized once a week and watered them regularly (every day in the hot weather). The plants grew large, about the same size as Vista Bubblegum. They are so pretty, covered with fruit punch-colored flowers all season. The growth habit is slightly irregular, requiring just a small amount of pruning to keep them tidy. I am very pleased with them and will grow them again.

    • I have been growing Proven Winners Supertunias for years and this year was no exception. I'm very disappointed in this variety. I based all of my planter designs on the fact that this was supposed to be larger than other supertinia varieties that were included. Instead, these are barely visable in my pots and my other ones are larger and producing more blooms. Big disappointment.

    • I grew these a couple years ago and did nothing except water them. They completely took over my 20" round pots, cascading all the way to the ground (2-3 feet) around the whole thing. They did start to flag a bit on top around August, but I learned that I just need to cut them back to encourage new growth. I did, and about a week later they were back to their former glory. Now I grow supertunias every year and have a regular routine of starting to cut back and fertilize in midsummer, so they never miss a beat!

    • This was my very first plant from Proven Winners. I will never be without them again! Beautiful, long-lasting that produced so many blooms! In a tall urn, This plant had to be cut off the ground 3 times!

    • I planted these for the first time and boy they took off. I planted 2 they trailed over my other plants but I love them!!! Next year I will give more space I didn’t realize how big they get . I fed them water soluble fertilizer every two weeks and water them 2-3 times a week. I’m going to try them in a basket as well to see how they do next year. I found my favorite flowers!! They are a show stopper for sure!!!

    • Outstanding color in my sunny garden. It has filled in its space nicely, but needs frequent feeding or it gets pale foliage and reduced blooming.

    • I grew Vista Paradise in large pots in 2019 along with Vista Bubblegum (one of each). While both plants are rated 4 in vigor, I found that Vista Bubblegum still took over and dominated the planter. But Vista Paradise had the most beautiful color and remained healthy throughout the season. It also didn't get as leggy as Bubblegum and didn't require as much cutting back mid season. This year I will try Vista Paradise with a different Vista plant, perhaps Silverberry or Snowdrift and see how well they perform together.
