Professional Growing Information I purchased this on line from PW in the 1 quart size because the larger size was out of stock. I needed a dwarf / compact size Althea, and none of our local nurseries stocked this variety in the spring. I've had a few blooms this summer even on this tiny shrub! The leaves are a nice dark green, and the flowers are spectacular. Recently a local nursery added this product to its fall inventory in the 3 gallon size, and I was delighted to purchase another Little Kim Red! How beautiful the larger size looks! It has dense / compact dark green foliage and is covered in blooms. This shrub will not disappoint!

A wonderful addition to a sunny place in the yard. I bought the 1-quart size of plant. It has been slow to establish, but is finally growing well and this year had a generous number of flowers. If they have the 1-gallon size in stock, and if it is financially doable for you, that is probably a more satisfying way to go. But if they only have the 1-qt in stock, or that is all that is doable for you, it is worth getting this shrub and simply being patient a couple of years until it really starts to look good. Once it gets established, after a couple of years in the ground, you will be glad you planted it! It provides lots of beauty and asks very little in return.

I've had this plant for two years now, and it has bloomed like crazy each summer. The color is good, and I like the shape of these blooms better than the Lil Kim white.
