    • I purchased 10 small healthy plants last September, getting them into the ground in October. Almost all have perished from the cold winter we had here, so undecided if I will re-purchase and try again.

    • This is an addendum to my first review. The Steady as She Goes gardenia didnt make it via the very bitter arctic blast period that we had here in my area(7B) which lasted for three days with high winds etc.....sub zero type temps and the wind took it out even though i did cover it w/frost cloth. I do encourage anyone however to purchase this plant if you love gardenias..its such a well formed plant naturally and the foliage is amazing..leaves are formed in tight succession so the plant never looks open in the center.. I will re purchase this plant again in '24 as i have my selections already made for this growing season........

    • I purchased this plant online from PW ln March 2022..Unfortunately it was tossed around in delivery by the shipping company and it was damaged badly...however...I planted it in a large container and set it in a sunny location when it arrived. I must say that it has thrived very well and i never had any issues w/the health of the plant..nor did it get any insect or other issues. The leaves are deep glossy green and look as though they are :"leaf shined". The plant is quite vigorous for a woody shrub and it has more than tripled in size.. The flowers are fully double albeit quite a bit smaller than a Mystery gardenia...but they are as fragrant and well formed as any fine gardenia. I haven't babied the plant but i have been giving it regular watering and ferts......Frankly its the jewel in my container garden for its vigor and performance. Im in zone 7B and this will be my first overwintering so I hope it does well. Its in a SW location close to a brick wall so I am hoping that it will get radiant heat from the "stone"..I will make sure i keep an eye on it as I love gardenias and I was thinking of putting it in a black "overpot" container to attract heat over the winter..Im hoping for the best..This plant has really given me alot of pleasure watching it grow and bloom..........I recommend this plant very highly for its attractiveness and performance. The shape is quite symetrical in that it grows well from all areas of the plant..I have not pruned it and dont think i will have to for next season...I do think the plant might be re named to Steady as She Grows.......Thanks PW for your fine plants...Bob Perricone (7B)

    • I love this plant! It has done well in the heat and has been putting on some decent growth this year. I am a bit nervous for it during the winter as I live in zone 7b; and it is only hardy to a Zone 7. Hopefully my gardenia does well this coming winter and I can see it grow and blossom next year.
