Care Tips
For optimal performance, keep your Anthurium at 60-85°F (15-29°C).
- Anthuriums perform best in bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. Place your Anthurium in a bright window with other plants nearby or sheer curtains to filter the sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves. Anthuriums will tolerate lower light conditions, but will not flourish or grow as prolifically.
- Anthuriums appreciate high humidity (60-80%), so feel free to mist them regularly or use a humidifier.
- Anthuriums prefer to be consistently moist, but not wet, and need good drainage. As such, water your Anthurium thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. Ensure good drainage and do not allow your Anthurium to sit in water for extended periods of time.
- Feed your Anthurium once per month at half strength when it is actively growing. Reduce frequency of fertilization in the winter months. If no new leaves are growing, it does not need to be fertilized.
- Protect furniture when watering & fertilizing.
- When repotting your Anthurium, use an all-purpose potting mix with additional orchid bark and perlite added to ensure your Anthurium has good drainage and plenty of nutrients.
